Blogging has been a never ending journey for me. There has been some good times and some bad times. I've learned so much and all the great possibilities it could lead me to that I'm always looking forward to see what's next on my journey. I will say I've hit a lot of bumpy roads and there has been times I just wanted to give up, but I'm glad I didn't. What had failed me made me more stronger to help continue on my blogging quest. I'm starting to get a lot of readers that are bloggers themselves and just starting out, so I wanted to share my past failures to help newbies not make the same mistakes as me. Blogging takes a lot of trial and error but if you keep investing in it, you'll find what's right for you. Below you'll see some of the mistakes I've made:

Even though I'm a seasoned blogger, I'm always learning new things on my blogging journey. Last week, I joined a Blogspot support group that helps other bloggers currently using Blogspot platform. One of the members gave some great information about photos and SEO. Google is unable to know what your pictures are unless you give it a title. Below are some tips and tricks I learned to better master your photos with SEO. Earlier this week, I discovered a new game on Facebook called "Guess the 90s" which is a trivia game that ask different 90s questions. Well that game gave my poor Galaxy S4 phone the deadly black screen of death. This whole week I've been having withdrawals of not having my phone because I use my phone to keep up with all my emails and social media on the go. Not having my phone has taught me a lesson that I need to find a balance from my work from home life and personal life. If you've been following my blog, you may have noticed that I've been making a pretty good amount of income each month and it continues to grow. I'd like to start off by saying this, making money online is not easy! It takes hard work, dedication, and a whole lot of learning. Currently the majority of income I make online is through Affiliate Marketing Programs. Affiliate Marketing is when you get paid for sending a company leads, sign ups, or sales. It took me 4 or more years to make the income I currently make and I'd like to share with you how you can also make money every single month like I do- and even make money while you're sleeping! Below are some helpful tips: February flew by fast! I guess that's because it's a short month. I was so busy last month that it seemed like we just entered in February. I spent the whole month networking my butt off and that'll continue. It's good to get to know other bloggers out there and build relationships plus friendships. I should've been doing this a long time ago. I'm still floating on cloud 9 seeing myself in Dr. Oz's magazine! It's such a wonderful feeling sharing with the world some of the things I love to do in my spare time which is product testing. Product testing was once a hobby that now is turning me into a Brand Influencer. I now help bring awareness to help brands market their products. The products right now is my compensation but I know it'll lead to big things like becoming a brand ambassador, representing brands at events, and getting brand endorsements. So fingers cross this will start opening doors for me! Now on with my February Totals: Tuesday at 10pm EST, I joined in on #BlogElevated Twitter Chat about topic "Bloggers and Taxes". It was a very informative chat that'll help bloggers know a bit better about handling their taxes and deductions. It's important to pay your taxes each year to stay in good graces with the IRS. You don't want to find yourself hit with penalties, fines, or worst, jail time for tax fraud! Below is a list of tips that'll help you know about taxes for bloggers. When I started blogging back in 2008, I solely depended on writer's platforms and search engines to bring traffic to this blog. Years has past, and now it's much more harder to receive traffic due to more blogs being created everyday which means more competition, Google is forever changing their algorithm, and so on. I really wish I worked harder on improving my traffic from the very beginning. Maybe it was because I was afraid of putting myself out there, people not liking what I do, or just not interested. Also I do remember the days when I first started blogging, I went about it the wrong way to get traffic by spamming my link everywhere. That's another reason why I stopped trying different ways to build my traffic and just relied on Squidoo and search engines. Now I'm in the full swing of networking and it has been working! Also I've been meeting some great new blogging friends along the way. Some people get caught by surprise how long I've been blogging and the knowledge I know. Here are some ways I've been networking to build up my blog traffic: While I was gathering up documents and receipts to take to my accountant this week to get started on my taxes, a thought came across my mind to talk about investing in your blog business. In order for your blog business to succeed you must invest in it. I know my blog is about earning money for free online but to go above and beyond the free money making opportunities, it'll take money to make money. When I first started blogging, I went the free route. I made some ok income that was enough to pay a couple of bills but I wanted to take my blogs to the next level, and in order to do that I had to start pulling money out of my own pockets to invest in it. Below is a list of investments I did for my blogging business: Join this panel and become a part of a community of like-minded foodies where you can share recipes and cooking tips with other members, to find out what’s new at KitchenAid®, and help design new products that will help inform product development of KitchenAid .Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links. You know me, I'm always on the hunt to find different ways to make extra money. So when I find new money making opportunities, I make sure to share it with you all. Last week, Raise.com contacted me to join their current campaign over on my other blog called Give Yourself a Raise. Since I've never heard of them before, I went on their website to take a look. Have you ever had unwanted gift cards and never knew what to do with them? Well Raise.com is a marketplace where you can sell your gift cards and also purchase discounted gift cards. Here's how Raise.com works, |
