How I'm Successful at Affiliate Marketing

If you've been following my blog, you may have noticed that I've been making a pretty good amount of income each month and it continues to grow.

I'd like to start off by saying this, making money online is not easy!  It takes hard work, dedication, and a whole lot of learning.  Currently the majority of income I make online is through Affiliate Marketing Programs.

Affiliate Marketing is when you get paid for sending a company leads, sign ups, or sales.

It took me 4 or more years to make the income I currently make and I'd like to share with you how you can also make money every single month like I do- and even make money while you're sleeping!

If you're wanting to make money with affiliate marketing, you're blog will need to have traffic!



Find Out Your Reason for Blogging-  First you'll need to find out what your reason is for blogging.  Are you doing it just for a hobby?  Are you doing it to create a business from it?  Are you creating a blog to make it the go-to place for people looking for certain information? 

My reason for creating this blog was because I wanted to show other people ways to make extra income from home.  At first this blog was not making me any kind of money until I learned more about monetizing my blog through affiliate marketing.  I believe when you first start blogging, don't focus so much on trying to make money from it, but create it as a place to help your readers and get them engage first, then start placing affiliate links within the articles.



Join High Authority Writers Platforms- Even though I have a love and hate relationship with writers platforms, I must say they are the main reason for a lot of my traffic.  Writing articles on websites like Squidoo, helps get your articles ranked high on search engines much more quickly than your own blog.  Adding your blog link within the article can really help get traffic to your blog.



Rewrite Your Articles- This has been really helpful.  What I do is write an article on Squidoo and then I'll go back and rewrite it on my blog.  I've noticed by doing this the keywords I currently rank for has my Squidoo article as well as my blog article ranked high on the first pages of Google together.  That means I have twice the chance for someone to visit my blog.



Write Evergreen Topics-  Evergreen topics means a topic that never gets old- like an evergreen tree that stays green all year.  Writing topics like these will help you get continuous traffic throughout the year.  Big mistake bloggers make is only writing seasonal topics. 



Only Promote Companies You Trust-  If you're looking into making money with affiliate marketing, only promote products or services that will benefit your readers and is a company you trust.  If you promote a company and it turns out to be bad for your reader, you can kill your online reputation in a blink of in eye! 



Promote Products You Know A Lot About-  This is very important because you want to be knowledgeable about what you're trying to promote to your readers.  The more information you give, the more your readers become interested.  If you can, tell and show why a certain product or service will help the reader, by doing this it'll not keep them guessing.  By being the authority of a product or service, search engines will take notice and start ranking you high on their search engines.



Always Answer Readers Questions-  This is also very important.  When your readers leave you a comment, make sure to always answer them.  This helps let them know you're a real human and care what they have to say.  And did you know Google bots picks up content in the comment section?  So if someone is searching for your specific keyword, the comment section may also show up in their search results.



Join Several Different Affiliate Companies-   Affiliate companies usually has different offers you can promote on your blog.  By joining different ones, you have more of an opportunity to find great offers to promote.  Also get a chance to get paid by different affiliate companies throughout the month.  Make sure to do your research first on affiliate companies before joining them because some have not paid their affiliates and you don't want to be in that situation.




I do have to say that it did come a bit easier for me to rank high for my niche because I've been blogging before there was a lot of competition out there, so I have a bit of an advantage.  I already have built up an online presence.  

If you're just now starting out with affiliate marketing then it'll be much more harder for you.  You must work twice as hard, and promote yourself without looking like you're spamming. 

Don't give up!  You may not make money as quickly as you want but you will make a decent income from it if you continue to work hard at it.  Keep reminding yourself why you started in the first place and stay positive.
