When I started blogging back in 2008, I solely depended on writer's platforms and search engines to bring traffic to this blog. Years has past, and now it's much more harder to receive traffic due to more blogs being created everyday which means more competition, Google is forever changing their algorithm, and so on. I really wish I worked harder on improving my traffic from the very beginning. Maybe it was because I was afraid of putting myself out there, people not liking what I do, or just not interested. Also I do remember the days when I first started blogging, I went about it the wrong way to get traffic by spamming my link everywhere. That's another reason why I stopped trying different ways to build my traffic and just relied on Squidoo and search engines. Now I'm in the full swing of networking and it has been working! Also I've been meeting some great new blogging friends along the way. Some people get caught by surprise how long I've been blogging and the knowledge I know. Here are some ways I've been networking to build up my blog traffic: TheSitsGirls- I'm so happy I've discovered this women's community of bloggers. The Sits Girls gets bloggers together and help one another with different things like get more comments, blog hops, share each others social media links, etc. This community has been a major help!
Blog Hops Parties- Believe it or not, I didn't even know what a blog hop party was until joining the The Sits Girls. A lot of bloggers host blog hop parties on their blogs to help bloggers and themselves bring traffic to their blog post. Different parties has different rules. Joining these parties helped my traffic tremendously. I was thinking about hosting my very own party next month on my other blog- maybe even this one. Twitter- I've had my Twitter for a very long time now but only used a automated post system (NetworkedBlogs) to post on there. I hardly ever received traffic that way or gain followers and I decided to get active. I started joining Twitter parties which is quite fun, started doing "Follow Friday" by adding my top followers in a tweet, I've been manually posting my blog post, I retweet other people's tweets, adding proper hashtags, and I talk to people on Twitter. By doing all of this, I gain about 5 or more followers a day. Top Mommy Blogs Directory- A few years ago, I remember trying to add this blog to Top Mommy Blog Directory and was declined. I tried again a few months back and was approved and so was my other blog. Top Mommy Directory is a high ranking directory and has brought my blogs some pretty good traffic. My blogs has been ranking high in their categories. Hosting Giveaways- Now I haven't done a giveaway in awhile on this blog but I've been doing it on my product review blog and it's been bringing me great traffic! I use Rafflecopter to host my giveaways and give options like "tweet giveaway on Twitter", "follow me on Twitter", "leave a comment", to earn points towards the giveaway to better readers chances at winning. People like free stuff, so hosting a giveaway is a great way to bring traffic. Google+- I'm very active on Google+ and I think it's way better than Facebook. A lot of my Sits Girls buddies are on there and we help each other out by 1+ each other's post, sharing each others post, joining in on circle hops, etc. Right now it's important to be on Google+ to help your blog SEO on Google, so if you're not on there you need to be. Leaving Blog Comments- I don't know why I was hardly ever leaving comments on other blogger's blogs. Maybe I was afraid to say something, or maybe in a rush. Either way, commenting on other people's blogs is important. Leaving engaging comments will get the owner of the blog attention as well as the readers. 9 times out of 10, the blogger will return the favor by visiting your blog and leaving a comment. Sverve- I forgot how I discovered this website but it's a community of women sharing their blog post and networking with each other. Also Sverve has paid sponsored post opportunities. I like the fact that Sverve shares my blog post on their Twitter account which helps bring in more traffic for me. So these are my current ways of building my blog traffic. I also want to give a shout out to the new bloggers I've recently met: The Brown Girl with Long Hair Fashion and Fun after Fifty- DE Divah Deals Continuous Cash Ideas The New Internet Marketer Creative K Kids Chad vs. Death How do you build up your blog traffic?

Thank you for the tips above. Some of the groups I have never heard of so I definitely plan on checking them out. I have become a huge fan of yours after discovering you on Squidoo via a Google search a few months ago. I have learned a lot in just the few months that I've been reading your posts.
