Many people measure success by the amount of money they make, but what about measuring success by using the money you earn to help others? When it comes to being successful, there is something called “Pay it Forward.” Paying it forward means giving your time or your money to others. How do you measure success? Here are some lessons regarding finance that can be learned from John Studzinski. Making a lot of money isn’t about what you can buy
Many people think that making a lot of money is about what you can buy for yourself with that money. It shouldn’t be about this. It is not bad to buy yourself something with the hard-earned money you made. However, you shouldn’t always spend all of your money on yourself. What about buying for those you love? What about helping out those less fortunate than you? That is what making a lot of money should be about. You should have a goal as to how much you can do for others. Invest the money you make You should also invest some of that money you made into something that will either bring in more money to help you retire or to help others. Don’t just invest your money; invest your time as well and it will all pay off in the end for you and those you helped out. No need to be famous or highly successful to help others Another lesson in finance from John Studzinski is that you don’t have to be someone famous or even someone highly successful to help others. You don’t even have to be rich to help others. You can help other people who truly need it by volunteering your time. This could be doing something like helping build someone a home through Habitat for Humanity or even giving out food at the shelter where the homeless go to eat. However, if you are wealthy you can give some of your money to charitable organizations. Giving to other people doesn’t only make those recipients happy, but it also can make you happy for knowing you helped people out. About John Studzinski John Studzinski started out as an investment banker for Morgan Stanley in 1980. He now works for The Blackstone Group where he is senior managing director. He is not famous; however, he should be recognized for his countless efforts in helping several less-fortunate people by donating to many different charitable organizations. Conclusion When it comes to helping people by giving your time and money, you can feel good knowing they appreciate those who help them out. You don’t have to be a well-known celebrity to be able to help others out. Give your time to others if you can’t give your money, or if you can give both, that is great!
