You guys just don't know the excitement I'm feeling right now! To see myself in a national magazine is beyond electrifying!
Last Fall, Hearst Corp. editor contacted me through this blog to feature me in Dr. Oz's debut magazine "The Good Life" in one of their articles about "Fun Ways to Make Extra Money" and found that I enjoy making money free testing products at home.
When I got their email, my heart dropped! At first I just didn't believe it but once I gave them my phone number to do an interview over the phone and they called me pretty quickly, then I knew right then this was the real deal!
Yesterday, I knew Dr. Oz's magazine would be on newsstands, so I made my way to Kroger after dropping my daughters off to school. My heart was racing walking into the store, but once I got to the magazine section it wasn't there. I left Kroger and then went to Walgreens, same thing, wasn't there, employee told me new magazines wasn't delivered yet and to come back. So after that I went to work and tried my luck again during my lunch break.
When lunch came around, I was back to my wild goose chase to find the magazine. I went to another Kroger, wasn't there. Went to Target, wasn't there. Then I went to Fry's, wasn't there either, ARGH!!!!! I have an hour to take my lunch break and it was almost up, so I found something to eat and went back to work.
While at work, I went on the Internet to get the phone numbers to Books A Million and Barnes & Nobles. Called Books A Million, they said the magazine would be put out on newsstands Wednesday. Called Barnes & Nobles and YES, THEY HAD IT!!!!!!!
I made my way there after work, found the magazine, flipped through the pages and there I seen myself with other women that earns extra money free doing the things they love.
Lady #1 made $18,000 last year walking dogs and being a dog sitter (DogVacay.com).
Lady #2 is a mystery shopper and earned more than $16,000 last year (MysteryShop.org).
Lady #3 bets on herself to drop a few pounds and took home $900 (HealthyWage.com).
Lady #4 dresses up her car with ads and makes about $175 a month (DrivenMediaOnline.com),
And then there's me earning money testing products with different websites.
I'm just truly blessed to be featured in a magazine that I know a lot of people will be reading since Dr. Oz has a lot of followers. Never in a million years would I've thought to be in any ones' magazine!
Make sure to get your copy of Dr Oz's debut magazine "The Good Life"!
