College, probably the best 4 years of your life, full of adventures, memories, and experiences of a lifetime. Living on campus and living the “college life” so to speak is an experience that everyone should have to go through. Learning how to live on your own is a skill that is necessary for entering the real world and going off to college is only the beginning of that adventure. Let's start with the most obvious, school work. Classes should definitely be your number one priority although for some people this isn't the case. How you perform in school can ensure failure or success for your career. Chances are you probably didn't need to study very much in high school to do well and get good grades. You just showed up for class, spent half your attention on the professor and the other half on what you're doing this weekend. Took tests got good grades and eventually ended up with a college acceptance letter in your hand. Attending university will definitely be a huge adjustment for you if that is the case. You will almost certainly have to buckle down and study for just about every class that you take, if you want to do well, that is. Studying is a skill that if you did not pick up in high school can be a bit hard to pick up in college. However, it is necessary for a successful college career. Now we move on to the fun stuff. The social life, the partying, the school spirit and sports. All the great stuff that every high school senior looks forward to. Living in a dorm is a great way to meet new people and find out about the going-ons of the school. After a hard day of studying sometimes you need to kick back and let loose once the weekend comes. You just have to put on your rage hat and go downtown club hopping. Attending a college sports event is definitely a great experience especially if you go to a university that has pride in its athletics. Painting your entire body school colors and chanting on your team are the memories that you'll never forget when you look back on your life. Even if you aren't in to sports, going to a football game is something that you have to do to seal in your college experience. College is a huge adjustment for everyone but making the most of it is what you need to do. You should take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way and live life to the fullest.
