Here are numerous ways to earn money to support yourself while you are travelling in far-off places.
Wouldn't it be good news if you were able to secure jobs as you tour various countries which would reduce the requirement to dig into any savings that you might be using? Fortunately, there are a considerable number of job vacancies in most countries. The following list is not exhaustive but is a guide to some of the more common types of jobs available. Teach English There are numerous opportunities to teach English abroad. Although you do not need a degree to be able to do so, some kind of qualification would make it easier to find a teaching job. Not only will teaching provide you with an income but also, hopefully, a great deal of satisfaction as well. You may, however, find that you are committed to a 12-month contract. Au Pair Many countries have openings for English-speaking au pairs. This role provides you with an excellent means of improving your ability to speak the language of the country you are visiting. Your employer may even give you access to a car. As with teaching English, you may find that your contract is for a minimum of 12 months. Working on a Cruise Ship There are so many different jobs available on cruise liners. You could be working as a waiter, pool attendant or cabin boy. There are roles that involve helping with excursions on shore or providing the entertainment. Working on a cruise liner also gives you the chance to visit many different ports in numerous countries around the world. You may get the opportunity to work on a specialist small cruise ship that, as part of its itinerary, offers whale watching holidays. You will probably be surprised just how popular whale watching holidays are and you may well discover that the passengers on this type of cruise are a little more affluent and therefore more likely to tip well. Hairdresser If you have just come out of college as a qualified hairdresser, how about locating yourself on a beach in an affluent destination, putting up a well-designed sign and offering to cut people's hair? You will be pleasantly surprised to see how many people find what you are doing novel and therefore avail themselves of your service. Article Writing You could take your laptop on holiday and write articles for companies who specialize in travel advice. It is easier to write articles about subjects that you have an interest in and there are numerous opportunities to write about travel-related subjects. Just imagine relaxing on a beach in Cannes with a cool glass of white wine and writing about the experience. Hotels and Pubs You will find there are many establishments that have vacancies for casual bar staff, waiters and kitchen workers. If you are accepted to work for a multi-national chain of hotels, there may well be several opportunities to work for the group in a number of their hotels around the world. Car Valeting There are often a number of car-valeting businesses in towns around the UK, so it should come as no surprise that they are equally as likely to be found abroad. Be bold and approach them to ask if they have any vacancies. There are many more examples of ways to earn money while travelling abroad but hopefully one of these examples may appeal to you.
