Freelancing isn’t always that easy, especially when it comes to managing your time. This is because when you work alone it is often harder to remember all the things you need to do and in what order. Planning for your day is really important as a freelancer and you can really improve your earnings as well as have more free time if you manage time properly. To help you out here are some simple clever tips for planning your day. 1. Use The 1-3-5 TacticPrioritising your tasks is one of the best ways of getting more work done each day. It is a good idea to get a proper list making app and start thinking about which tasks are the most important ones to achieve. One really good method for freelancers is to start using the 1-3-5 tactic for getting things done. What this means is that you do one big task, 3 medium tasks and 5 smaller tasks each day. This way you achieve a lot each day and can clear your to-do-list a lot quicker than if you only focused on bigger tasks at first. 2. 90-Minute IntervalsYou should also think about spending your workday a little bit differently. Just having a set work time from 9 to 5, for instance, isn’t the best way to go about your day. Instead consider dividing your workday for four or five 90-minute intervals. This way you don’t spend too much time with any one task and won’t get frustrated so easily. With the above 1-3-5 tactic this would mean that you spend first 90 minutes doing the big task. You’d then move onto the 3 medium tasks for the next 90 minutes regardless of whether you have finished the first task. For the third 90-minute period you can return back to finish the big task and so on. 3. Get Outside HelpYou also don’t need to do everything on your own either. For instance, managing your finances can take up a lot of time from your day but luckily it is an aspect you can get help to. Consider getting a professional accountant to help out with your bookkeeping or even just taxation. This way you can free a lot of time on your day for just working. Effective and reliable accounting services are available online and you don’t have to spend a fortune on them either. 4. Remember To Get Enough RestAbove all you need to ensure you get enough rest each day. You are much more effective in working and getting things done if you aren’t very tired. Therefore you must ensure you are able to sleep well and that you take an occasional holiday to completely forget about work. If you feel like you can’t financially get a break then you need to look at your pricing policy and see what you should do differently. Naturally, it will require a lot of work to make it as a freelancer but you cannot be working 24/7 for the whole year. Featured images:
