More and more people are falling in love with paintball and it is not difficult to see why this is. Paintballing is an excellent way to relieve any pent up stress and offers an escape from our everyday dreary existences! For an hour or two, you can pretend to be deep inside enemy lines and without your expert helpyour buddies will be facing certain death! You’ll need all of your special forces training to overcome those fearsome guerrillas on their home turf. And so it goes, but what a way to have some real fun and just shoot away your troubles! If you have ever held one of these events and found the promotional side a little difficult, why not combine this awesome hobby with another phenomenal modern development? Social media is the perfect vehicle to let the world and his wife know all about your shoot ‘em up gathering!
It is best practice to announce your event at the earliest opportunity, but you will need the basic details for this activity. The place, date and time are the minimum details required, you could also think of a cool title for the paintball gathering. If you are still undecided about these details, why not create a Hashtag on Twitter and start asking for some input? Just remember to always use that Hashtag in future and see what type of momentum the event gathers. Once these details are agreed upon, use Facebook to let everyone know about this awesome adventure and tweet links to your Facebook page. You can set up a Facebook Fan Page if you would prefer to keep the two entities separate. You could also think about using an online booking service for the paintball event and upload links to your social media pages.
On The Big Day!
As well as promoting your paintball event, you can follow the current trend of using social media for a live broadcast of the big day itself. Ask your followers to check-in when they arrive and take some photos of the warriors just before they risk everything in battle. Of course you should also encourage the use of different uniforms and provide armbands for each team. When the carnage begins, use some decent video equipment for a live feed to your social media pages. Try to avoid any foul language and bloodshed coverage if possible! Once the fighting has ended, interview the winners and losers and throw a mini celebration party. Any non-attendees will certainly wish that they had bothered to come and you should get even more people at your next paintball event.
You can still get some good value from social media after the event has ended. Write up an entertaining story and promote it on Twitter and Facebook, remember to embed lots of tweets from other sources. Go to paintball social sites and ask if you can share the story on their pages. Most of these sites will be more than happy to help the cause. Do a harvest of all the Twitternames of people who have used your event tweet and engage with them. You will soon have more than enough people to host a dozen more events!
