How to make money from the comfort of your living room
There are hundreds of reasons why you might be interested in pocketing some extra cash from the comfort of your home. Maybe you have a hectic schedule and need to save an extra $100 - $200 for an upcoming vacation. Maybe you just want to save but don’t have the flexibility to pick up a second job.
Instead of dwelling on the reasons why you may need the extra money, let me offer you some great ways to achieve it.
1 – Sell Extra Items On eBay
Do you have lots of “junk” lying around the house. As the old saying goes: “One mans junk is another mans treasure.” Why not post some of this miscellaneous clutter from around your house online and let others bid on it? You would be surprised at how much value you might have lying around your home.
Open up an account on eBay, take a few quality pictures, and begin your listing. Of course, you will have to start to build your reputation on eBay at the start. However, once you get the hang of it, listing items for sale can be fun and financially rewarding.
2 – Do Freelance Work
Freelance work is another way to pocket a little extra cash on the side. Try out websites like oDesk or Elancer.
These sites are freelance connection sites. Basically, business owners go there to post job listings for everything from data research to writing and contractors can bid on the jobs. If you are a talented writer or just a well organized person, you may find that these sites can provide a nice supplemental income.
Signing up is easy, and if anything, you can see what sorts of jobs exist and if anything could potentially be of interest.
3 – Participate In Paid Online Survey Panels
Paid online survey panels are another legitimate option for making extra income on the side.
Many businesses are willing to pay big bucks for market research and opinions from their target demographic. In order to facilitate this action, there have been many survey panel sites created. Essentially, you can sign up for these sites, take the surveys, and get paid.
Now, I would NOT expect a full time income from taking online surveys. It is simply too difficult to get sent enough surveys to accomplish this. However, it is quite reasonable to expect an extra $100 - $200 per month if you play your cards right. The key, is to sign up for a large number of panels in order to maximize the amount of opportunities that are sent your way.
Of course, you should do your research and make sure that none of these survey sites have been reported as scams or unethical.
4 – Start A Blog
Now this is definitely something that you should only focus on if you are looking for long term income. Setting up a blog, building traffic, and monetizing can be a year to two year project.
However, the great thing about this method is that once you do succeed, you are going to receive PASSIVE income.
PASSIVE income refers to income that comes to you whether you work or not. It is set and forget income. While this is the best type of income (in my opinion) it is also the hardest to come by.
To wrap things up, I would like to say that there ARE legitimate ways to make money online. If you do your research, investigate properly, and make a firm commitment to succeed, the sky is the limit.
If you are waiting to jump on any of these opportunities, I would encourage you to take action now. All of the options I listed above are free to try so there really is no risk.
See what works and what doesn’t, but you will never know until you try!
