Some of you webmasters may have noticed that your web page rankings has taken a nose dive due to Google's algorithm update this week.  I've noticed a huge drop in traffic to my website yesterday and wasn't for sure what was going on until I googled "Google Rankings Dropped," and found an blog article about Google and their recent changes and  saying they're rewarding high quality sites.

Google frown upon spam websites and are trying to get rid of them and stop them from ranking high on Google searches, which is good, but their changes has done the complete opposite and spam websites and videos are ranking #1 on Google's first page searches.

With spam websites now ranking high, it's hurting good quality websites and they're getting lost in the wind with Google searches.  I remember when Google did algorithm changes back in 2011 called Panda 1.0 and that had affected my traffic a bit then but nothing compared to how my traffic is affected now!

I've worked hard producing good quality and orginal articles and I feel like I'm being punished for it!  I rely on SEO (Search Engine Optimization) using keywords based on what my website is about, like "Making Money Online Free, Ways of Saving Money, etc."  I've never used Black Hat webspam tactics like paid link building or keyword stuffing to rank high with Google and have only used White Hat techiques which are providing good informative articles that will benefit my readers.

Thank goodness I only use my website to make extra money to supplement my current income, but I feel sorry for those who rely on their website(s) for full time income.

Seems to me that Google wants webmasters to start buying their way to the top of the rankings with them, and I will not do that.  If I have to, I'll start using Bing or Yahoo.

Thanks Matt Cutts for your crappy changes!  Don't you know the saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."  SHEESH!!!

Do you have a blog or website that has been affected by the Google 2012 changes?

Good credit stems from unlimited resources and the help of a qualified accountant, right? Perhaps, but you don’t have to be rich or flanked by financial planners to keep your score in check. There are plenty of ways to focus on credit repair with positive everyday habits. If you are feeling discouraged about the prospect of a better future, take a second look. Financial security is a universal, achievable goal. Read on to learn how to adopt the necessary lifestyle changes. Better credit may be closer than you think.

  1. Create a budget. Bad credit begins with poor planning. If you fail to keep track of your income and expenses, it is impossible to understand how the two relate. Organize your life by creating a budget and sticking to it. Make a list of essential expenses such as rent, utilities, car payments, etc. Now make a list of discretionary or “extra” expenses like dining out, entertainment, etc. Add the two together to calculate your monthly spending. How does this number compare to your income? Are you left with a comfortable financial cushion, or are you breaking the bank? Stretching yourself too thin can lead to missed payments and credit dependency, two no-no’s in the world of credit repair. Practice caution developing a system that allows you to save at least 10% of your monthly income. A rainy day fund is the difference between credit preparedness and credit vulnerability.

  2. Know your credit card limits. When used properly, credit is a great way to solidify your financial skills and recommend yourself to lenders. When used improperly, it can tank your credit score. Part of maintaining this balance is understanding your credit utilization ratio, or the amount of money owed vs. your total credit limit. Ideally, your ratio should never exceed 25%. Overextending appears risky to the credit bureaus and practically always results in lower credit scores as a direct result. Keep yourself in check by assigning a single card to specific expenses. For example, you might use your Visa for groceries and your MasterCard to cover entertainment expenses. This strategy will increase your spending awareness while keeping your utilization ratio low. The bottom line: Let credit work for you, not against you.

  3. Educate yourself. Learning about credit repair will only increase your resolve to achieve it. Adopt the habit of doing research to understand the inner-workings and impact of your credit score. Begin by learning more about the five factors of credit scoring:

  • Payment history—Consistency of payments and reliability
  • Debt utilization—Money owed vs. credit limits
  • Credit length—The age of your credit history
  • New credit—How often you assume new credit responsibilities
  • Diversification—Your level of experience with different types of debt

Succeeding with credit repair doesn’t happen overnight, but it is possible with a few changes and some new habits. Why not strive for a better future? You have nothing to lose.

How to Be a Virtual Assistant with a Full Time Job

When most people decide to become virtual assistants, they will usually quit their job to focus on it full time. It can be rough at first, but ultimately this approach allows you to put your full attention on the business, which allows it to grow faster. However, there are still a lot of people out there who manage to successfully hold down a full time job along with their growing virtual assistant business. If that's the route you want to take, there are some ways to make your life a little easier.

Schedule Your Calls Around Your Job

The beauty of being a virtual assistant is that it doesn't have to be a 9-5 job. In fact, more often than not you'll find yourself working in the evening until 8 or 9 pm due to clients in different time zones. When you set up your call schedule, take a planner and go ahead and blank out all the hours you'll be spending at your regular job where you can't take calls. If you have a 9-5, just make yourself unavailable for the whole chunk of time.

Time you could be Reached

Then, try to allow for as many hours as possible outside that time frame. You might want to make yourself available for 2 hours in the morning and then another 4 after work, or whatever schedule works for you. This lets your clients know that you can't be reached at certain hours.

Mention Your Hours Instead of Your Times

That heading is a little confusing, so let me clear it up: Basically, you don't want to tell clients that you're available from 6-11 every night. Instead, say that you are available for 5 hours a day, at whatever times those hours may fall. That gives you a little leeway with your schedule. If you wake up early you can get an hour of work done before you head to your job, letting you stop working an hour earlier than normal at night. If you specify that you're available until 11pm every night, you then HAVE to be available, even if you managed to squeeze in that extra hour in the morning. This is important for billing purposes.

Keep Your Stress Levels Down

Finally, it's important to work with what you know for the simple fact that it can be very easy to get stressed when you're running a business on top of a full time job. These next few months are going to be incredibly difficult, and what you may find happening is that one of your jobs starts to slip as you pay more attention to the other one.

This can really limit your productivity because even if you're doing well at your virtual assistant business, you might be worried about duties at your regular job, and vice versa. That worry really starts to eat at you after a time, so you have to find a way to keep all your priorities in line and keep stress levels at a minimum.
