Don’t go on the apprentice if you’re going to make a fool of yourself probably. Bit of a career killer. To be fair, the apprentice is a fascinating programme for any young entrepreneurial type looking to start a business, though it is detached from reality. It is basically a game show, it is heavily edited and it does see the teams set challenges that have only a small element of realism to it; for example: on the junk shop task, being set up in Brick Lane was the real key to their ability to sell anything. Without this opportunity they would I suspect have sold next to nothing. Despite this, The Apprentice does offer lessons to entrepreneurs looking for some tips on how to have a better chance of success.
Some of you webmasters may have noticed that your web page rankings has taken a nose dive due to Google's algorithm update this week. I've noticed a huge drop in traffic to my website yesterday and wasn't for sure what was going on until I googled " Google Rankings Dropped," and found an blog article about Google and their recent changes and saying they're rewarding high quality sites. Google frown upon spam websites and are trying to get rid of them and stop them from ranking high on Google searches, which is good, but their changes has done the complete opposite and spam websites and videos are ranking #1 on Google's first page searches. With spam websites now ranking high, it's hurting good quality websites and they're getting lost in the wind with Google searches. I remember when Google did algorithm changes back in 2011 called Panda 1.0 and that had affected my traffic a bit then but nothing compared to how my traffic is affected now! I've worked hard producing good quality and orginal articles and I feel like I'm being punished for it! I rely on SEO (Search Engine Optimization) using keywords based on what my website is about, like " Making Money Online Free, Ways of Saving Money, etc." I've never used Black Hat webspam tactics like paid link building or keyword stuffing to rank high with Google and have only used White Hat techiques which are providing good informative articles that will benefit my readers. Thank goodness I only use my website to make extra money to supplement my current income, but I feel sorry for those who rely on their website(s) for full time income. Seems to me that Google wants webmasters to start buying their way to the top of the rankings with them, and I will not do that. If I have to, I'll start using Bing or Yahoo. Thanks Matt Cutts for your crappy changes! Don't you know the saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." SHEESH!!! Do you have a blog or website that has been affected by the Google 2012 changes?
You can never be too safe these days, and in order to protect yourself you need to know who and what you can trust. One of the best ways to find out if you might be putting yourself in harm's way is to run a background check. A little research can go a long way--and whether your query is in regards to a person, business, service, or consumer product, you'll get some peace of mind once you've cleared any suspicion. Listed for you here are 5 places where you can do a background check, and each and every one of them is free. Better Business Bureau - The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is a trustworthy source if you're looking for background information on businesses or charities--and their site is totally free for consumers to use. The BBB provides reports on both accredited and non-accredited businesses, and in order to stay neutral, businesses are never endorsed or favored--just reviewed. The BBB's main objective is to make sure that all businesses are held to certain standards so that consumers can make smart spending decisions with confidence. They work hand-in-hand with law enforcement agencies in order to prevent and stop fraudulent activity--and the BBB is often the first to know about scams and other suspicious business practices. If you would like to do a background check on a specific business or charity, simply do a search by name, website URL, phone number, or email address. The BBB reviews and reports on consumer complaints as well as court actions against businesses and charities. U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission - Before you invest any of your hard earned money, you may want to do a background check on your broker or investment adviser using the SEC's free website. All brokers, investors, investment advisers, and firms must have proper licensing, and anyone can verify that this is the case by doing a little digging. The SEC website provides all the links you'll need to find out not only about licensing, but also about complaints, problems with other investors, regulation violations, and educational and employment backgrounds of investment professionals. Find out all you need to know about brokers and investors before trusting them with important financial decisions--otherwise the money you've worked so hard for could end up being lost forever. Lifescript Doctor Review - Finding a doctor that you feel comfortable with can be tricky--but if you can find out a little bit of information beforehand, you'll probably feel a whole lot better. This website allows you to search for a specific doctor using his or her name along with a city, state, or zip code in which they practice. Search results bring up the physician's number of years of experience, specialty, office location, educational background, licensing information, types of insurance accepted by his or her practice, and disciplinary actions taken against them, if any. If you decide to make an appointment, follow-up on the website after your visit to leave feedback for the doctor that you were seen by. Your review may help others who are looking for a trusted physician. Dru Sjodin National Sex Offender Public Website - This site, put together by the U.S. Department of Justice, provides information on registered sex offenders within the 50 states as well as in all U.S. territories. The site is free to use, and on it you'll find a comprehensive search tool to help you find out if someone you know is registered as a sex offender. This is a valuable resource for conducting background checks on baby-sitters, nannies, neighbors, employees, and more. If you are a parent, this site is one you should consider book-marking for future reference. Safercar.gov - Background checks aren't strictly reserved for people--they can be done on vehicles as well. The NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) backs this free site for consumers to research the safety of vehicles, tires, child restraints, and more. If you're in the market for a new vehicle, you might find the site's 5-star rating system to be helpful. You can also use the provided search tool to find out about vehicle or equipment complaints, safety recalls, defect investigations, and important service bulletins. Another great search feature found here is the Child Safety Seat Inspection Station Locator for consumers who need advice or assistance with child restraint seats. Written by Jean Clark. With the state of the economy today, small businesses have many choices when it comes to renting business spaces. Not only are larger commercial buildings being divided into multiple smaller spaces, the overall rate for renting business spaces has gone down as well. If you are looking to rent a space for your small business, the following tips can help. Know Your MarketBefore you set out on your search for a business space, it is a very good idea to familiarize yourself with the local market. A licensed real estate broker can help tremendously with this, so it is probably in your best interests to work with one. A broker can help you get the inside information on all of the vacant rental space in your area, which is key in knowing your market. Brokers will not only know rental rates and lease terms, but the details on landlords as well. Once you familiarize yourself with your local market, you can begin shopping around for the right space for your business. It is advisable to shop around before deciding on any rental space so you are sure you are getting the best space for your money. Consider Lease LengthLease length needs to be taken into consideration when shopping for a business space. Since the state of the economy has declined tremendously, you may be able to get a lease for whatever length you wish. Since many landlords are dealing with vacant properties, they will often be willing to negotiate and design a lease to your specifications. Although you may find many landlords willing to work with you, always have a plan in mind before starting any negotiations. You do not want to enter into a lease simply because it is a good deal. Consider Utilities & MaintenanceWhen you rent a space for your small business, you will probably also have to pay the utilities for the space. It is a good idea to make sure your space has a separate meter for utilities. This will prevent you from paying for any utilities you did not use, which can be a common issue in divided rental spaces. Anytime you check out a potential rental space, ask the landlord how utilities are measured to be sure you have a separate meter. Another important factor when choosing a rental space is the availability of maintenance personnel. If you ever have an issue in your space, such as a plumbing leak or furnace problem, you want maintenance personnel to address the situation right away. Access to Your SpaceAnother thing to take into consideration when choosing a rental space for your small business is access to the space. Because small business owners often work long hours, you will need around-the-clock access to your space. Be certain you will have this type of access before deciding on a space. You do not want to enter into a lease only to find out you will have restricted access. Lease ReviewOnce you decide on a space for your small business, it is an extremely important to have an experienced real estate attorney review your lease. Because leases can contain lots of real estate lingo that the average small business owner may not understand, an attorney can help clarify all lease terms so you know exactly what you are getting yourself into. These tips will help you find the rental space that best suits your business needs. Just remember to shop around and get all the details before signing and agreeing to anything. I like to do my taxes online with Taxslayer.com because of their low prices on e-filing online with my federal and state taxes and it is very easy program to use, plus its safe and secured. I have been using them for almost 6 years without ever a problem with my tax refund that I get deposited in my bank account within a week of me e-filing. So yesterday while I was checking my emails I received this message from Taxslayer: We have recently learned that the IRS has a refund processing delay. This was discovered on January 24th by the IRS, which has caused a vast majority of refunds to be delayed at least one week. This affects all taxpayers who have an accepted e-filed return prior to January 24th.
To check the status of your refund or to see if your refund has been affected by this IRS error, please use the “Where’s My Refund” link found on www.irs.gov.
I can't believe my refund will be delayed!!! I was counting on paying off some credit card bills with that money. I guess the IRS is really backed up processing 2011 tax refunds.
So if your wondering why you haven't received your tax refund yet, there goes your answer.
